Anti released on the 28th of January and is Rihanna’s eight studio album.
Anti is a 13-track studio album with guest vocals from Drake and SZA. So far, it has been described by critics as Rihanna’s best project in years with some describing it as her best work throughout her music career.
Entertainment Weekly described the album with the connotation:
“Rihanna’s most intriguing project yet, even if there’s no clear smash amongst its 13 tracks. In many ways it’s her most deliberately uncommercial album yet, but don’t let the low-key THC vibes fool you: every harmony, drum beat, and transition on Anti is painstakingly finessed.”
The album received generally positive reviews from fans and critics showing that Rihanna took her time with the project and it was worth the wait.
The Independent [UK] review of the album like many others was also positive, stating that Anti was worth the wait and praised Rihanna’s vocal skills.
“Oh Rihanna, it was so worth the wait.... This album shows Rihanna hitting back at anyone who ever said her voice could only do certain things and showing them she can do anything she wants to. Such attitude; no apologies.”
Rihanna’s last album ‘Unapologetic’ released in 2012 and ‘Anti’, her latest release is already considered a critical success.
